Yup, maybe -- you better ask before you go down.

My indie gives a free Passat loaners from their VW dealership next door if your Benz has to stay overnight. If you ask, you might get similar treatment at other indies.

The new Passat is a decent car, but driving one for a day sure makes you appreciate your Mercedes-Benz.

It is individual dealer policy. My local MB dealership has rental car company office in the building, so they offer free loaners even with A service.
Not that the service is cheap.

Depends on where you go. The MB dealership that I went to last had a C class and an M class to loan out. But that for a recall. I did not end up taking either.

if you bring it to Motorwerks of Barrington IL - you'll get a free loaner.

Can't say about other dealers.

I get a free C-class from Enterprise Rent-a-Car, even when I just get an oil change or drop it off for them to look a something. They used to provide E-class' but stopped that a few years ago. They also said they would charge $5 admin fee, but never did. Some dealers require you buy from them, some only give you a car while yours is under warranty. Lots of diff's...

Don't believe everything you think

Btw, what do dealers do with their loaners after a certain time/a mileage later?

Do they just sell them off at autions like any other rental cars?

Just being curious...

My dealer cleans & services them & puts out for retail sale on a periodic basis.

The vehicle loaner program is up to the dealer, under warrany they have to supply a vehicle if they can not fix it in one day, After warranty they can elect not to participate. The local dealer will supply a car and has both Hertz and Enterprize on premises and will give them a PO for a basic car (usually $25.00) if you want to upgrade or buy insurance it is up to you.
I have purchased three cars from the local dealer, but last year the rookie service rep refused to supply one since one of my cars was not sold thru them. I visited the matter with the service manager, and told them "forget it I, dont want my car serviced" I will find another MB dealer.
I did get a loaner, BTW at the prices they charge the $25 is in there. One of my previous MB dealers had a policy, make an appointment and you will get a car, no appointment take your chances.
In all my service work I have only gotten a MB product once and it was a "trade in 190". They find it to their atvantage, to deal with a rental company, dents scratches etc.
