4matic for 2007 E320 Bluetec

Anyone know if they are going to offer 4matic on this model? I don't understand why they wouldn't and would buy one in a second if available

How much are you willing to pay?
Bluetec is having some problems with passing emission test, so it might take a while.

My MB informant says no E320 Bluetec 4Matic until at least MY2010, that's when the 7 speed transmission will be combined with next generation 4Matic.

retired MB diesels: 190D 2.5 Turbo & E320 Bluetec; 2013 E350 Bluetec; now driving: 2015 E250 Bluetec 4Matic, Palladium/black leather, MPP, MP2, MSP

No US MB Diesel has ever been offered with 4 Matic when the trannys were perfectly compatible (except perhaps too much torque for the 4 matic), no reason to think they will be offered now, I wish they were too..

E-Class CDI 4Matic's (pre-facelift) were available in Europe (I think it was). There is an article about E CDI 4M's on this site.

2002 Mercedes-Benz ML320 (sold)
2011 Chrysler Town & Country
2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid
2003 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic
2002 Jaguar X-Type 2.5

The facelifted W211 (sedan) 4-Matic is available as 280 CDI and 320 CDI in Europe now.

Once again, the US (world's largest single market) gets treated like a red headed stepchild. Just look at the wonderful Ford Mondeo in Europe and the crap Ford is trying to sell us here as another example.

US is the largest market for cars accounting for 25% of the total WW sales, roughly 15M out of the 60M cars.

It is not the largest market for MB. Europe sales was 3X of the U.S. in 2006.

The 4-matic availability may not be a good example but to me it looks like you don't have all the models available because MB sells the high end models at the cost of low end ones in the US. This would leave negative profit if they had more models.

Also it is more costly to have a wider selection of models on sale. The warranty costs (at the same failure rate) are higher in the US too. Looks like this could be the reason they want to come half a year/a year later with new models.

I would change the model offerings between US and Europe any day, if they just kept the European options system and the market entry with new models :-)
