I remember reading somthing that said that they dont do swift and frequent model changes, because no change is needed, and Mercedes doesnt want to rush a newer looking car unto the assembly line because they take the time to do it right...Well more so in past years, but quality is on the again as the rumors suggest.

Mercedes doesnt want to be the first with the newest, but the first with the best, as they say it...

1981 300D Anthracite Grey 358K (Daily Driver)
1981 300D Euro `Diamond Blue` paint code: '355' at least 300K (passed away)

Why don't you guys just say that was a dumb question, rather than rub his nose in it? I don't think it's that dumb, and am curious to hear what MB would say.

Don't believe everything you think

It wasn't a dumb question. We're just trying to figure out what the strippers deal was all about... Get with the program!

Well Mercedes models, as well as BMW, seem to age more gracefully then other models, so I quite like the fact that the models last so long, it is a tribute to the quality and design.

I'm pretty sure that's a big factor in the MB timing. They like the reputation for holding a strong resale. Although that resale value has started to erode in the past few years. (Fortunately for those of us who buy second-hand.)
