Newport Bch Fletcher Jones free car wash any good?

I was wondering how the free car wash at the dealer is? I read in some threads that some people don't really like it and prefer to do it themselves...

Do they do a good job in general and do they clean the interiors and vacuum too?
Thanks a lot.

Looks like you live near me in Orange County, CA. I go to the one in Laguna Niguel Mercedes Benz, they do a great job, they clean my interiors, vaccum, and even wipe the engine bay. It's free if you are a starmark member. Just one advice though, if you do take your car there for a car wash, don't leave any coins in your glove box or any other compartments in your car. The guys that wipe your car dry tends to tip themselves without you knowing. To answer your question about Fletcher Jones a friend of mine had his car wash there and not only the guys there tip themselves but they also take whatever belongings you have either in the trunk or your glove compartment. He had his digital camera stolen and along with all his coins. They do a great job but makesure you remove all your belongings, the car wash maybe free but it will cost hundreds of dollars.

FJ in Las Vegas is an exterior wash only and I would call it okay. They miss spots, they don't get the window good and wheels are not really done well. For a quickie it is fine, otherwise I use my normal location.

Thanks a lot for all your replies, it sounds good. I'll make sure not to leave coins or valuables... I wonder if they'll wax the car as well for an additional cost?

When I got my Mercedes they told me I could come in for free washes, I think it's only on certain days though. I forgot which ones specifically, I'll have to call in and ask.

If I bought my car at Newport, can I get a free car wash at any dealer or just the one where I bought the car? Thanks a lot.

I'm sure they can wax your car too for an additional cost. I'm not sure how much but I know Laguna Niguel Benz Dealer does it.

Never hurts to ask another dealer if they can wash your car. Especially Laguna Niguel Mercedes, I have had great experience with them, so far no complaints.

By accident, I found this Ward's list.

It is amazing that Flether Jones Newport is the 2nd biggest dealership in the nation including all brands. I would not tell numbers here, but take look @ yourself revenues, # of cars sold, etc.

Even further, it is amazing that lots of farmiliar dealerships are owned by few major players. I am pretty sure that those big players have leverage in terms of negotiating not only with new car manufacturers but also used-car auctions. Now, for me cars just look like another commodity.

Can anyone give more insight information how those mega-player dealers operate?

Wow, had no idea Fletcher in NB was THAT big... I have no idea how those mega-players operate... would be interesting to know though.

When I asked my salesperson if he could give me a lower price on my car he was like "We sell a lot of cars so anything is possible". I guess he wasn't lying... lol

Do you have to buy the car from Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach in order to get the free car wash?

Also, do they give you loaner if you take the car in for service if you don't buy the car from them?
