Question drilling holes in your airbox ......

I was told by a friend that drilling holes in the bottom of your airbox would help air flow and make you car sound better. He said it wouldnt do much as far as H.P but it sounds cooler. So I wanted to know if this would cause any lights to turn on... or any other reasons how this could or would not be good for your can! thanks _mike

Your stock intake looks restrictive but is tuned to minimise intake noise and it feeds the airbox with outside air. Opening up the airbox would likely cause a slight loss of power because the airbox is inside of the engine compartment which is baffled and covered to trap heat inside for noise control and smog reasons. Sucking air into the airbox that has just passed through the radiator and is now heated to near coolent temperatures isn't a recipie for increasing performance.

The unsilenced intake sounds better on a bigger engine than you have but the sound is a great and a cheap thrill until it gets old hearing those great sucking sounds every time you open the throttle

Potato Chip, custom canuter valve, low-friction muffler bearings, synthetic turn signal fluid, Hi-Definition Progressive Scan Wiper Blades.
Law-makers are supposed to regulate in the interest of the public as opposed to regulating in the interest of the regulated party.
If it says Pratt and Whitney on the outside it better say Martin Baker on the inside.
