Mercedes Suspension

Before I got my car (1998 E320) It had been sitting for 4 years in a garage. I had to replace all the fluids in the engine etc. to get it running safely.

But, I was told that I would probably have to get the suspension "done." Whenever I go over a speed bump or something, the suspension makes this noise that is really hard to explain. Like a little squeeky baby noise. I know for a fact that this was cost by the car sitting in one place so long.

Anyway, I wanted to know what I needed to get done to fix this and how much it would cost. Also, I wanted to know about the "spacers" that i can use to lower it .5 inches? Can I put the spacers in myself? Do they just pull out?

I would really appreicate the help, thanks

Suspension spacers

Where are you located, maybe I can help. Had a client who's 1997 E 320 was lowered (really low). Had to replace all shocks, springs and spring pads (spacers). If you like, you can reply with exactly what you need done.

I run a mobile service in the Bay area, call me if you like: 800 992 3694.

Happy Benzing!

But I barely want to lower it, like .5 inches just with spacers or something. I heard I can do this myself?

Your squeaking noise may be the anti-roll (sway) bar rubber bushes squeaking, spray some silicon lubricant around the point where the bar passes through the bushes and it may stop them squeaking.
Regarding your suspension height the spacers come in different thicknesses as shown #11 on this diagram,http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=052&SGN=01. ,but you will need the correct internal spring compressor to do the job safely.

Suspension

The correct spring tool is right. Aftermarket, around 600, MBZ original, about 900. this can be done for you, where are you? http://www.theworkshopmb.com/Coverage-Area.htm

"1995 E320 salvaged" Is it possible for someone to have installed lowering springs and not replaced the shocks? My rear shock absorbers appear to be too long, as at least 6 inches comes through the top mounting. Not sure what to do?
