WOW, they haven't produced an Imperial for several years! I like it better than the 300C, but there seem to be several styling similarities.

Yeah, the more I see it, the more I like it. It does resemble the Phantom quite a bit, as it does the 300. It's a head-turner, for sure.

I think it is absolutely stunning. Why suddenly are we getting really interesting and attractive designs from US car makers. Some of the Dodge designs stop me dead in my tracks. We don't see most in UK so nice to see your pics here. Could sedans be making a comeback??

I had a Cadillac Brougham that fell apart and drove me to my first Mercedes-Benz. I never had a problem with Mercedes-Benz (a 300D, 300SD, and a 380SL) until I bought my W140 S500, now I seem to be having the same problems that I had with my Cadillac.

By the way, it was just in the news the other day that after a few recalls (don't remember what the number was) that Lexus and Toyota are addressing quality control issues....Hmmm is Hyndai the only only reliable car left??????

To see one, try http://www.lincoln.com and select Lincoln LS.

LOL, you are correct about the US luxury sedans, at least in times gone by. One of those, the Lincoln Town Car was recently discontinued, if I'm not mistaken. Those were big boys.
Thanks for the link to Lincoln. The LS looks like it's trying to look like a Beemer though why anyone would want to, I don't know. The SUV's look gross. Chrysler styling seems to be way ahead. Pity; I really liked the white Lincoln sedan I drove in the late 80's.

Rumour over here is diesels are about to land from Merc in the US. ML, GL etc and maybe evn the S class. Will US carmakers offer diesels too?

Latest news over here is Ford planning sale not just of Jaguar but Aston Martin and even LandRover too --all to pay for problems with the US side of things. How bad is it?

Yes, they had a SLK 32 AMG and now they have a SLK 55AMG. I believe a Crossfire Srt-4 or Srt-6 is in the making, should be a hot car.

No apologies to coming back to the state of the US car industry. Is it dieing? Here's a report in UK after the Paris motor show: -
"However, all the optimistic talk and exuberant concept cars will not entirely dispel the spectre at the feast: the crisis in the American car industry.
While General Motors seems to have taken a few steps back from the precipice in recent months (fewer people on Wall Street now expect it to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy), the situation at Ford seems to go from bad to worse.
At present, it seems to be locked into a cycle of ever-more-desperate cost cuts, while the blockbuster new cars that might turn around its fortunes seem no closer to production. Ford now says it will not have any new American model smaller than a Mondeo before 2008 at the earliest - at a time when Honda literally cannot make enough little Jazz hatchbacks for the US market."

So what is going on? Is the once mighty GM really going to fold? Would the US govt let that happen? And Ford? Anyone on the forum know just how bad it is at Ford? Are we really seeing the demise of what has been the world's most successful car industry?

The interesting thing about that statement is that the Honda Jazz isn't and never has been available in the US. I doubt it ever will be either.

Well, well well. How inaccurate journalists can be. But what about the rest of the piece. Are things really as bad as some of the Press are saying, in the US car industry.

So what is the small Honda that sells in the US if it's not the Jazz.
