wow. very different. joystick steering? airplane style throttle (im assuming) or would that be part of the joystick steering. very cool nonetheless. id buy one. it suck if the wires that run into the door got "beat up" in the door jam and your steering didnt work too well. should be a joystick that come sup between the legs fighter jet style.

i just got those pics as a random e-mail .. it almost looks like the thingy in the door would control the acceleration and brakes and the one in center controls the steering...?? or is it the other way round

Ever seen the F117? Joystick on the right / throttle on the left. Things are all going to be moving to fly/drive by wire. Considering the usual triple redundancy in aircraft, I'm sure they'll do at least single redundancy in vehicles.
I really doubt they'll release a car like this for quite a while. Too many old-timers won't even mess with it. It seems daunting at first, but controlling a vehicle with joystick wire controls are much more fluid and intuitive, once you get the hang of it. It does kind of take the fun out of hanging onto the wheel and feeling for the brake point around curves.
