Question S500 1995 overheating problem

Until recently, my '95 S500 always ran at an engine temperature of about 90. Now it will get up to 100 under normal driving conditions and goes up well over 100 on a hot day or going up a hill at slow speeds. My mechanic has replaced the thermostat, the radiator, the coolant, the water pump and repaired the electrical wiring to the fans. And the problem persists. Has anyone found another way to correct this problem? Would greatly appreciate your help before I have to rent a car to go to my niece's wedding in very hot Sonora California. Many thanks.

running hot

sounds like you have replaced everything, but:

When your gauge reads 100, what is the acutal tempature of your cooling system?

Is the sending unit reading correctly?

Is your cooling fan operational?

Start the car, hold it at high idle (in park) until you hear a seemingly large roar sound (that is your cooling fan coming on).

Does this happen?

If all else if failing, you could have timing chain problem. possibly stretched, causing an unwanted advance or retard of the timing.

happy motoring!!

thank you for the reply. The timing chain is a new idea. I'll get this checked out. Thanks again.
