Exclamation hard top removal

does anyone know of a device that can be used to remove the hardtop from a 380sl. My problem is I do not have a garage and I was hoping someone might know of a device on rollers that would be able to roll under the car and have an arm and winch that could lift the roof and then be rolled out of the way.

No such device exists in the universe, sorry!

The closest thing to what you need is a patient lift used to lift people in and out of bed. You could rent one from your local medical equipment rental place to see if it would work for you. They come in different sizes.

For an example check this link:

Potato Chip, custom canuter valve, low-friction muffler bearings, synthetic turn signal fluid, Hi-Definition Progressive Scan Wiper Blades.
Law-makers are supposed to regulate in the interest of the public as opposed to regulating in the interest of the regulated party.
If it says Pratt and Whitney on the outside it better say Martin Baker on the inside.

Gary,

At one time in history, Mercedes Benz used to sell a "crane" very similar to an engine cherry picker, for hardtop removal. I have seen one in print, but do not remember where. It was on wheels, and the long front legs wheeled under the car, between the car's wheels. This positioned the crane arm immediately above the top, and had a hook and winch to engage a lifting harness. Teh rig was designed to store the top as well, lifting it tight up against the crane arm. Perhaps a dealer can help. I am sure an interprising individual could buy an engine cherry picker for around 1 hundred and half, and couple it with a fritzi or similar hoist and accomplish the same.

Happy Hunting...

Where is it again that we are going... And why are we in a handbasket?
