Wink Can someone help me with this?

Hello everyone! I have a 1999 MB ML 320. Since last week I have been having problems starting the engine it has happened 3 times in a week). It looks like there is power because everything comoes on, I turn the key to start the car and It makes a noise like is going to start but it never does. If I try again in 10 or 15 minutes it will start with no problem. It drives fine, there are no other abnormalities just the starting the engine issue. Can someone tell me about it before I make any uneccesary expense? Sorry, I will admit it now yes I AM A WOMAN!!!! I'm supposed to not know much about cars so guys if you want to once again prove your point, tell a woman what to do!

Do you have (or have access to) a voltage meter? You can use that to check the battery and the alternator.

Does the problem occur with a cold or warm engine?

Cool ME? Tell A woman what to do? HAHAHAHAHA

A woman is like driving on ice.

Sometimes you may influence her direction, but mostly you are just along for the ride.

Can you also describe the "noise" more accurately, is it just a "click" or is it like your starter motor was screaming (gears "slipping").

What is your mileage? If it starts "later", looks like the battery is not dead but instead a problem in your starter motor (specifically if it "tries", otherwise could be an immobiliser problem).

With an electrical problem, typically it is either the battery, alternator or starter. The starter will make a click, click, click sound. Check your voltage before you start the car. It should be right around 12V. Start the car. Check the voltage again. I am not sure the exact voltage it should read. Typically it will be about 13-14.5V. I am sure someone can tell you the exact range. My range is pretty general. It could be your battery. If the voltage is low, it may charge up after a few hours and the car will start again. If it is the battery, just call the mercedes roadside assistance. The battery is a dealer only item and there is no installation charge. It could also be the battery in your key. I would start there. Get a new battery from Radioshack. What you are describing is exactly what happened to my wife in her ML320. She got in after work and it was dead. It started up the the next day. She drove to work. It died again that night. Turned out to be the battery. After 7 years it was done.

May I also include my dilema w/ regards to the ML320, would highly appreciate any advise, comments and expertise.
First of all am a new member to this forum,
recently my predicament started w/ my ML 320 losing power from the accelerator
and brought it to a local service shop. According to them have to replace the accelerator acctuator and yet no improvements, next diagnose was the replacement of a certain computer module identified as Mercedes part no.A030 545 58 32 or Bosch part no. 261 206 968.
Now before I purchase this part is it going to make any improvements. My original suspicion was the fuel supply system. Because have been surfing in the net and read that a lot of ML320 owners experienced bad fuel pumps, can someone share some light to this?
