With an electrical problem, typically it is either the battery, alternator or starter. The starter will make a click, click, click sound. Check your voltage before you start the car. It should be right around 12V. Start the car. Check the voltage again. I am not sure the exact voltage it should read. Typically it will be about 13-14.5V. I am sure someone can tell you the exact range. My range is pretty general. It could be your battery. If the voltage is low, it may charge up after a few hours and the car will start again. If it is the battery, just call the mercedes roadside assistance. The battery is a dealer only item and there is no installation charge. It could also be the battery in your key. I would start there. Get a new battery from Radioshack. What you are describing is exactly what happened to my wife in her ML320. She got in after work and it was dead. It started up the the next day. She drove to work. It died again that night. Turned out to be the battery. After 7 years it was done.
