Haha - I have had the same experience with the MB dealer parts departments. You have to provide them with a valid number.

I don't know this to be a fact, but it seems like the MB parts system doesn't have a Search feature.

It has to be either that, or these parts counter employees are just lazy as Hell.

Good luck!

I do not quite understand you problem.

Do you have a star and do not know which car to put it on?
Or do you have a car and want a star?

Seems that at least the stars infront of radiator (large ones), do
have the group 888 and part 86, so any of these;

A129 888 00 86
A129 888 02 86
A140 888 00 86
A163 888 00 86
A170 888 00 86
A215 888 00 86
A215 888 01 86
A230 888 00 86
A638 888 00 86

First 3 are model number (129 is the SL, 140 the coupe of the large S-class, etc),
then 3 digits for the group number (888 (attachment parts)), 2 digits for
revision, and 2 digits for which part in the group.

Read more about the Mercedes part system at;
http://epc.startekinfo.com/epc/training.jsp

Look at this page for the example of C140 (600SEC);
http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp...SGR=135&SGN=05

As for a page of size, I do not know of one.

Good luck!

14 cm as a nose ring might be excessive.
