Hi - I'm new to this forum and would like to know if there is an adaptor to go between 38- pin socket and OBD2 PLUG . I have a 97 CLK 230K

The OBD2 socket should be under the driver's dash. The 38 pin socket is designed to mate with proprietary MB diagnostic equipment. No "adapter" is needed to read the OBD2 codes. The is a "break-out" connector for the 38 pin socket that allows easy access to the pins for people who wish to use a VOM or Oscilloscope to conduct specific diagnostics on a particular component.
