Ever owned a 200K mile car? If you don’t know the owner and the car, you may wish to consider checking everything. If you don’t know how to check something you may want to pay someone to check it. At that mileage, if the car hasn’t been maintained, expensive bits will begin to fail in rapid fashion. If the oil hasn’t been changed regularly, cams will go flat, bearings will have too much clearance (resulting in low oil pressure), valve guides will be shot (oil consumption), and there will be plenty of blow by. The suspension should be checked as most bushings will be at the end of their life, and the dampers will no longer dampen. The original cooling system will definitely be due for an overhaul - radiator due to be rodded out/replaced, all the hoses, thermostat, and the water pump too. Since stopping is as important as going, the brakes should be inspected. Like others have said, using the search will probably yield favorable results.

One question? Why are you interested in this particular two hundred thousand mile car? Surely there are other cars with fewer miles.

I dont often have sex in my Benzes... but they sure help me bring'em home for it...

aside from that... I do have a 1996 C180... it's a great car. The real electronic fuel injection makes it better with mileage than the carbs or the mechanical injected type... But I think the older benzes were a bit better built in some ways... well, you cant have it all.. the newer ones seem to be better with body rust.. but the electronics seem to go bad easier than the older designs.

well, they are all great. If it shines on your eyes... go for it... if you dont like it... theres always a buyer for a Benz.

back to the sex issue....
