Need Help Guys!!!!

I am about 5 hours away from possibly purchasing a 2000 c230 mercedes with 25k miles. It is mint. Its straight from an ACURA dealership and is totaly legit. comes with 120 point inspection 3 month warranty and an option to extend it for a year. They want 16,000 taxes and tags out the door and wont budge. I looked at the BLUEBOOK value and it isnt even close to that! Is this a good deal? and if I go to trade this thing in after a year am I going to take a beating on it???

Keep in mind its absolutely MINT.....

That is waaaaaaaay too high even with the low mileage! If you go for that price, expect to lose about half of that after a year when trading in.

What Inguyenh said.

You can a LOT more in a used MB for $16,000 (98-00 E for example, but more miles) - I'd advise you to keep looking. OR, try to beat them down to about $10,000 - that would be more like it.

What do Acura dealers know about MBs? - practically nothing - they only know what they have ($) in the car, and probably have too much in it.

One last thing, MBs need to be driven more than that - I think 25k in 5-6 years is too low. In my opinion, a possible red flag there too.

Kelley Blue Book (which doesn't buy or sell cars by the way!) - lists out the car for a suggested retail price of $15,500 - before taxes. The trade in (wholesale value) is around $10K. KBB doesn't really add that much extra for low miles. I'd say its not a bad deal: They're selling it for around $15K plus tax. And, believe me, other dealers know about cars.... that's what they do for a living!

Remember the new C class is due soon which making the W202 2-generation old. The price is going to drop even more in the new future. No one buys cars at retail prices.

i agree. 25k on a 6-year old car? that's kinda suspicious.
