clk W208 WATER LEAK

I've recently purchased a w208 clk and found to my dismay that water is leaking into the front passenger footwell when it rains. I've just read that I should check the water drainage holes (not sure where they are and hoping they're obvious to spot under the bonnet).
any other things I could check for before I take this problem to a garage?

Could be a badly fitted replacement windscreen?

that could also be the problem as I get a bit of wind noise from the windscreen when driving but I was told by the previous owner that the noise was due to the fact that I didn't have a windsceen wiper 'spoiler'. I though that might have held true as the wind noise would go away when I turned the wipers on.

Door and windows

Check the door and windows.

Dump a few cups of water on the front windshield
then a few cups on the windows.

Seal them with petroleum jelly.
If you have a few $100, you can afford to change the
window seals.
