Exclamation Merc E230 1996 P - Where is the Coolant Tank

Hi All

I am new to Mercedes and I have just purchased a 1996 P reg E230 Elegance.

I have 4 problems:

1. The windscreen washer pipe is not squirting water onto the screen, it is pouring out onto the engine/floor. It probably needs reconnecting but I cant seem to take the plastic bit off under the bonnet.

2. When I start the engine and drive for a 2 minutes the radiator light comes on but goes off after driving - why is this happening

3. The heater blowers in the car are not that powerful and the inside steams up pretty quick

4. I thought when the engine is running and you take the oil cap off then oil shouldnt squirt onto the engine mine is - is this normal

PLEASE help me resolve the above

(1)Squeeze the ends of the circular clips together and pull them out, remove just enough to get access and refit the tubing which as you say has probably detached.
(2)Check the coolant level, also the connection at the coolant level sender on top of the expansion tank.Which is on the driver's side of the engine bay behind the airfilter.
(3)Change your pollen filter;which is probably blocked;above underdash panel on passenger side.See here,
(4)Yes it's normal,You have a chain driven overhead camshaft engine and the oil sprays around inside the cam cover, stop the engine before removing the filler.
Hope this helps , Geo.
