thanks again

Hi again, thank you everyone for all your help in helping me find a car. Ive really liked some. A couple Ive really liked are the 1998 CLK230, and the 1996 S320. I really dont care about milage unless its over 110,000k. Along with a somewhat sporty mercedes, I want a somewhat reliable one. I understand the prices of these cars are high. I do know I am asking for alot, thats why I came here. Basically what Im looking for is a 1996 or later mercedes car with atleast a v6, and under 110,000 miles. I really dont want to spend 20k because some of that money is for pilots school for me... So really Im looking for a car 14k and under, sorry I said 20k. If anyone can find a car, or has one for sale that fits this criteria, please tell me..Im Very intrested. Also, like I said before, I have a 99 explorer xlt 4x4 loaded if anyone would want to trade (I would also give you $). Not that I think you'd be intrested, after all, you guys drive mercedes, lol. If you have anything, my email is ztrim3@aol.com, or you can just repost on here.

I'd recommend trying a pre-2001 C class. They're cheap and you can find one with fairly low milage for a good price.

I thought benz where supposed to be bomb proof and go on for ever. Due to my circumstances, thats why i bought a benz (instead of an escort cosworth).

If you buy a benz please consider the running costs. Personally, I have been stunned by some of the costs.

Im not saying a benz is bad for you, far from it, i dont know you or your circumstances. But if i where to buy a benz again, i would sit down & factor in the running costs as well.

btw, if your after a cost effective v6, then a w210 E class benz is a good bet. The repair bills on mine have raped me, but if you find a good'un your laughing

good luck.

good deal?

I found a black 1997 E320 with 92,000 miles for $11,000. It has all the extra options possible. It had one owner. Is this a deal or not?

if it where me, i would have a benz tech go over the car with a microscope. A few hundred dollars spent on a full check could save you thousands down the line.

Im obviously not a w210 guru.

Ask the peeps at the w210 forum as to what to look for

Please dont buy the first E class you come across. It could be a right shitter. If you want an E, study the forums religiously and become fluid in the problems that can develop with these cars. -Take your time- & you should be rewarded.

Believe me, you dont want to be throwing wonga at a total turd

thanks for the info and links... Now I know some problems to look for. You're right, I don't want to dump alot of $ into a piece of crap... I found a 1997 e320 w/ 91k miles for $8,500. That comes with a warranty. There's no rust or anything wrong with it the guy says...

And with the advanced search, you can choose the exact body style, model, color, etc that you are looking for. AutoTrader.com is the best place to find used cars.
