The Mercedes Carbon Bike weighs in at an amazingly light 8.3 kilograms, comes with components from famed Japanese manufacturer Shimano, a €2990/$3665 pricetag and in a limited edition of 1999
Didn't they just got cheaper?
I heard few years ago some millionaire in Beverly Hill donated couple of MB bikes to local Police, so the guys could match the good looks of the neighborhood.
The price was listed $6000 each.[8D]
Well, that price is about right for a carbon-framed racer with a top spec Shimano groupset bought from a shop over here. Those used by the pros cost a fair bit more 'cause they're made to measure.
It's hard to tell from the photo if the MB bike is a good'un or not.
Unless you're riding the TdF you're never EVER going to need $4000 worth of road bike. I have a hard enough time pushing my $1500 bike to its limits... then again God himself blessed Lemond :)
