Everybody,

Just to beat this subject into submission, let's agree that...

W = V*A

W is Watts (a measure of energy)

V is voltage (12 in most cars)

A is amperage (most car batteries are at least 40 Amps)

12V*40Amps = 480 Watts, which is enough to hurt, if you establish good contact and are standing in water.

Insert a step-up transformer into the system, like a spark coil and...

60,000V*40Amps = 2,400,000 Watts or 2400 Kilowatts. That stings. The saving grace is the time period is momentary, so the actual electrical power delivered into your body is very small.

Are we done?

Cheers!

Dave

hey guys im from new york and you can only imagine how bad it can get on some new york neighborhoods, but anyway i was talking to a guy once and he told me that you can connect the hood star to the battery and if someone moves it to the side or rotates it (in order to steal it) it engages in power and zaps the ... out of you, any body know how to properly do this? if so you'll never have to worry about a missing hood star, plus is cool
Ya should have posted this on APRIL 1ST.

OrangeMarlin,
Next time you are near your battery try holding both terminals, nothing happens because you are a lousy conductor of low voltage electricity.
