w126 300sd alarm and stereo

I am trying to install a new stereo and heard horror stories about the alarm going off. I dont need the alarm , but dont want to compromise anything else by disarming it.
Any help will be appreciated.
PS how do I get the beacker stereo out.
Thanks
Cornpone

RE: w126 300sd alarm and stereo

on the 85 its simple, remove the ash tray housing, there are two catches held by it, and it should slide out.
Its been a long time but I think the alarm wire pulls off the radio when it is pulled out, there is a catch on it!
I teenk!
