slk 230 vs. c240

I will be buying either an slk 230 or a c240 priced around $19,000 soon. Do you have any advise or reasons why i should go for one over the other? Also what is the acceleration and top speed differences between the two?

main questions: do you use it with more than 2 people? kids? Are you a commuter? You do not mind having the (Vario)top down? Bringing luggage on your trips? The SLK has cool looks, but the ride is quite disappointing (dead steering). The C looks more common but is more practical. All very personal...

wow
wish I had that cash laying around after high school.
[:D]. Easy choice then - SLK. Avoid red ones though.

RE: slk 230 vs. c240

I would take the SLK if the C is a C240, the C240, while it sounds higher up then a C230 or SLK230 engine wise, it is quite below. It has a lackluster V6 compared to the supercharged I4 in the 230s.

RE: slk 230 vs. c240

Someone on the other benz site raced a 240 VS a 230 and the 240 won every time. Its simple the 240 is a bigger motor and doesnt have to power a supercharger and doesnt have to wait for supercharger boost. If you are in high school its best to have a 4 door car so you can have your friends with you. And i think you will be less inclined to show off if you are driving a 4 door car vs a 2 door car, a retard at my school had a SLK320 and crashed it, also the 4 door car will have cheaper insurance.

You're in high school? Damn, I'm jealous.

That said, get the SLK. It's a babe magnet compared to the C-class. [;)]

I agree with Greg. SLK.

Even if you wanted to have friends riding in the car, the C is still too small. So there's really no point.

Besides that..
Let those friends bring their own ride.
The passenger seat is for the girl friend / mistress / date at the time. That's it.

Hate to disagree, but........
Superchargers are always spinning. There is no boost lag at all. They are always making pressure as long as they are spinning. Turbos lag not superchargers. I have installed three blowers on muscle cars. I also used to drive a turbocharged Pantera and it had lag, none of the supercharged cars had any lag.
