Someone on the other benz site raced a 240 VS a 230 and the 240 won every time. Its simple the 240 is a bigger motor and doesnt have to power a supercharger and doesnt have to wait for supercharger boost. If you are in high school its best to have a 4 door car so you can have your friends with you. And i think you will be less inclined to show off if you are driving a 4 door car vs a 2 door car, a retard at my school had a SLK320 and crashed it, also the 4 door car will have cheaper insurance.
Hate to disagree, but........
Superchargers are always spinning. There is no boost lag at all. They are always making pressure as long as they are spinning. Turbos lag not superchargers. I have installed three blowers on muscle cars. I also used to drive a turbocharged Pantera and it had lag, none of the supercharged cars had any lag.
Direct from HPS website.

The HPS supercharger system uses a Roots-type compressor that maximizes supercharger power and efficiency. Roots-type superchargers produce high output at low levels of boost, and at low engine speeds, to eliminate supercharger lag. This also increases engine torque and horsepower throughout the entire engine speed range to redline.

If you can afford the car & insurance, go with the SLK. Chick magnet.

First car in high school 59 Kharmin Ghia - "fill it up with oil & check the gas".

RE: slk 230 vs. c240

Scince when did a car show off ever get a girl? =P

The most dangerous thing they do all day is sit in a chair and try to look dangerous...

On an interesting note the c240 has 168 horsepower, that's about as much as a Ford FOCUS... the SLK230k has 201 horsepower, that's base Mustang level. You do the math kid.

My advice would be to go for the SLK, but try to find one in black...

If you're in the CA area get This baby for sure.

It shows you have some style.

Also have you considered a Porsche Boxter? They can be had allong the same lines as a SLK230, are MUCH faster, and nicer and preform well... finding one might be a bit of a pain, but you WON'T regret it.

There's one near you for sale... but it's a 97 I'd get a 99, it's only a few hours dive, you could get it over a weekend. Just car pool with your parents and drive the car back.
