Anyone own MB DAS-Star Diagnosis software?

I'm considering buying the Benz software to help troubleshoot and possibly customize features (electronically) on the car -- like the Audi VAG-COM.

There is one seller on Ebay asking $50 for the software. That's so cheap it worries me. And then I need a cable (which is not listed anywhere on ebay).

Any wisdom available?

The eBay stuff is sketchy, the cable is proprietary and very costly.

If you post the item # I will check it out. There was a scammer that got a few ML owners to buy it and it was not functional. The Star Diagnostic software the dealers use costs thousands and then there is a monthly update fee also.

Thanks. Looks like this is not a viable option. Multiplex hardware costs thousands, and the ebay software is a copy.

I did get pointed to a product called "carsoft" which seems interesting.
