Is the R series "Diesel" coming to the U.S.A ? HELP..!

I am about to buy a R350 gas but would be able to wait for the diesel model if it is going to come to the USA.

Th dealer cannot confirm if the diesel will come

In CA they "don't plan" on importing diesels.
If you are buying new one, you can try European delivery program. Would get you vehicle you want and save money in the process.

European delivery contemplates US spec vehicles only.
An R 320 CDI, you cannot get this way. I don't think it will be made available in America, just like the ML Diesel has not been sold here in all these years but available worldwide. [:(]

The problem is if you buy the R as is, it reinforces that MBUSA does not need to bring the Diesel to the US market. Call MBUSA and ask them when they are going to bring it and just not buy one until then. Money and demand is the only thing they will listen to.

It should be here within 1 year along with the new E320 CDI v6, so ask your dealer when the new V6 CDI E class is coming and the R an ML will be a few months later or at the same time. It will have the new v6 that it will share with the ML and E class and is supposed to pass all 50 states emissions with the current diesel we have in the US.
