MB Certified Warranty: Costs?

What are the dealer's costs for an extended warranty (certified) for 1, 2, and 3 years (all up to 100,000 miles) on a 29 month old 2004 E55? What is the typical mark-up over cost by the dealers ont hese warranties? Are there any comparable/good alternatives to the MB warranty?

auto warranty

I got an extended warranty thru a service company from the internet called autowarranty.
I then signed with Continental Warranty. I got 2yrs or 24,000 miles, whichever comes first. It covers almost everything, engine, electrical, etc. The cost was $1240.
You can do payments or pay all at once. The only catch is that it can't be sold in certain states and California is one of them.

Extended Warranty Information

I'm new to this site and have searched extensively for extended/aftermarket warranty information and all I've found so far are comments about Starmark and Daimler Chrysler which is okay, however some used MBs will not qualify for those warranties. What I'm looking for is information from people that have experiences with the other Extended Warranty companies. What companies have proven reliability and what companies have proven worthlessness. I've contacted Continental Warranty, AAautowarrantys, Warranty Direct, Warranty Gold and some others. Anyone have any experience with companies?
