190e 2.3 16v or 2.5 16v

i just got a 1987.5 190e, the thing is the valve cover reads 2.3 16v and the car reads 2.5 16v. whats up? or did he just change the tags. thanks

the 2.5-16 was introduced for the European market in 1989 only. So I'd figure yours is a 2.3-16. May be the previous owner thought of impressing others making them believe his ride was newer or so.

best thing about those badges is that you can take them off. Personally I hate them.

i think there's nothing wrong with the 16v badges if they're genuine
and reflect the original spec of the car. the performance differences between 2.3-16 and 2.5-16 cars is so slim it's pointless trying to pass one off as the other!

to be honest, i'd question the authenticity of a 190 if it had the 16v bodykit and no trunk emblems.
what's much worse is sad boy racers putting ///AMG and Brabus
lettering on the back of a stock 190 2.0!
