MB and the European Internal Market - Acquisition within the EU
I bought and personally imported to the UK a left hand drive E270 in 2003 directly from a German MB DaimlerChrysler dealer.
I am now trying to buy my second brand new MB, this time a Class C 180 K Sport Coupe. The MB German dealer is telling me now that they are not allowed to do it, and according to them no German MB dealer will do it.
It is not down to the left or right hand drive issue, I can register a left hand drive car in the UK as long as it comes with a Certificate of Conformity (COC). It seems to be related to an internal commercial policy.
Has someone else experience this issue in the UK or other European countries when buying directly a car from a MB German dealer?
