squeak in back right wheel

There is a squeaky noise comming from our right rear wheel on our 500ML. We took the wheel off to examine the break pads, and found them normal looking. There is a break pad light which should come on, on our dash if the break pads are warn, and this is not coming on. We went to a break shop, and they told us that all our breakpads need replacing along with rotors for the sum of $1100.00 We are reluctant to let them do this as we really don't think there is anything wrong with our breaks. It has been suggested that maybe our parking break is causing this, and were told to push it on with force, and snap it off several times. We did this, but still hear the squeak. Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone else have this problem?

RE: squeak in back right wheel

How loud? If you get a stone stuck between the disc and the metal shield behind it then it will make a hell of a nopise try reversing and then going forwards in the driveway a few times. If it is this then it will be very loud because of the stone grinding on the metal.

Good luck

RE: squeak in back right wheel

Good: brakes are worn

Bad: breaks are warn

Good: Going to a Mercedes mechanic

Bad: Going to a brake shop.
