300E HEATER BLOWER PROBLEM
I have a 1988 Mercedes 300E that the heater blower will not come on. I checked the fuses and the burnable link and they were both ok. I went to the dealership and they said it was the blower motor. I bought a new blower motor and installed it and it still does not work. It tests 12VDC at the link going to the blower. The leads at the blower test about 10-11VDC when the car is started and then drop down to about 3-4VDC. The blower motor never turns. I checked both the old and new on the battery and they came right on. This tells me the the blower motor was not the problem to begin with. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next?
What regulates the voltage going to the blower? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
