RE: What if...?

You were informed correctly.

Jaguar's reliability increased dramatically after being purchased by Ford.

Of course, they had nowhere to go but up...

for all I know, Yugo could have bought them and turned the quality around.

yes. Reliability. But what about build quality? Did that go up? I don't believe that it did

RE: What if...?

If a Ford impresses you more than a Mercedes, I'm sorry but that's your problem. If I would have the chance to make 1000 choices between them, I would say 1000 times Mercedes because the other car is just a Ford.

well, it is not that. It is just, living in California, everything Mercedes that you see,(pretty much) is a W203 C Class. It just gets really annoying.

but by the way Cyclonercr, If i had the chance to choose between Mercedes and Ford. It would be the same choice that you would make. Mercedes all the way.

It is not that I do not like Mercedes'. It is just that I do not like how the quality is going down. If i didn't like Mercedes', I wouldnt have had 5 of them.

RE: What if...?

I didn't read the other posts, but I think that if they took over, then there would just be more Lexus and Infiniti like cars out there, and if you look in all of the reports, mercedes and bmw are still beating them out most of the time. bmw is almost always number one in the sports categories...also, i feel that most people(dont hold me to it) that buy these kinds of cars expect to get something new in a couple of years and sell theirs, which could mean they arent exactly coddling their cars. My ML has 206,000 miles on it, and the thing runs perfect, and my accord has 160,000 miles on it, and it may last till 300,000, but it feels like i would be incinerated if i were to be in an accident.

I don't mean to be rude or mean, but yea. You would. I saw an accident with a W163 ML500 hit a 2003ish honda accord on the freeway, and the honda accord was totally mangled up, while the ML had a bend in the hood. The airbags were deployed in the accord, and the ML. So, i would advise you to stick with the ML
