Useful 'suitcase' for SL

The Mercedes Collection line offers a perfect rearseat case for traveling. Given the small amount of trunk room....especially when the roof is down...this built-to-fit case is great. It can be placed in the car or removed from the car whether the roof is up or down. If down you just lift it out. If the top is up you slide one of the seats forward and pull it out.

For extra stability the two in-car straps can be used to secure it

Yes, in fact that is my suitcase in my car.

It is so convenient to be able to fully utilize this space that would otherwise be not used fully.

In Thailand the Mercedes dealer offers a case that is shaped like the trunk on the SL and the SLK. The case takes up most of the interior when the top is down. I tried to find one here but I couldn't.

I am happier with this one. That way we can pack a number of smaller bags in the trunk when we take a trip.

I think it only comes in black. At least that is all my dealer had in stock. But, black can go with almost any color.

Its size is what sold me on it. That space behind the SL seats does not lend itself to supporting a regular suitcase; a regular suitcase would block the rear view. And suitcases that are not tall tend to be too wide.

We want to take an extended road trip while we are here. So, we need to take advantage of every bit of room. And we want to be able drive with the roof down...leaving us little space in the trunk. As you know the trunk has very little space when the roof is down.
