Cops more merciful on Mercedes drivers?

Is it just me or does it seem like cops are a little more merciful on most Mercedes drivers? For example, on the highway I see this E320 going approximately 85 in the fast lane when there is a cop behind him, cop does nothing. And another example, I was doing about 70 on a 55 while a sheriff starts to merge onto the highway. I look in the rear view mirror and expect to see blue and red lights come on...Nothing Happens. AND the other day I pull up along side a police car at a light.I have illegal tint all around, 5% rear and 20% sides. It's difficult seeing inside but he still doesn't do anything. But I bet in all those situations I've listed above if it had been an old ricer honda they would have been pulled over in a heartbeat. Is it just me or does this seem to be true in general?

I think its true because I've heard of those things before but instead it was the ricer talking bad about benz. I thought it was interesting thinking cops like me more than a old ricer.

The cops are pretty cool.....unless they suspect someone of switching their trunk badges. Then they are likely to throw the book at them.[:D]

Actually, I find it goes the other way around. Whenever we go near a cop, they alwyas end up following us, and following until they can catch for us something.

Same thing in my dad's friend's S430. He is followed constantly. When we visited him, we took a ride with him. We were on the highway, and he's going about 5-8 mph below the speed limit, and a cop is still following.

I passed an un marked car the other day and didnt notice until I pulled in front that there was a cop inside. My first instinct was oh crap. But nothing, go figure. Mind you I wasnt going that far over the limit like 7-10km at most.

RE: Cops more merciful on Mercedes drivers?

Maybe the cop was on his way to coffee and didn't want to stop anybody. Maybe going back to PD since it was the end of his shift. Maybe just felt like giving the guy a break. Maybe on his way home for dinner.(yes, cops eat food and are entitled to a dinner break) Maybe on his way to a call (serious or not) and couldn't get tied up on a stop as you never know what it may turn into. Maybe just stopped 30 other people during his shift and was burned out.
And no, no mercy on Mercedes or Honda drivers....doesn't play a part for most cops.
If a cop stopped everyone for every single violation he sees, he'd never stop......
OK, I'm gonna' go have a donut and coffee.

It wasn't in Detroit. He lives in Maryland.

CorvairTurbo, the guy followed us for 15 minutes, and as we turn into the hotel parking lot (where we went) and the cop slows down (not much thought) takes a look at us, and drives off as we turn.
