There is not very publicized law, that states "if more, than 50% of citizens violate it, single person can't be cited for it"
Oh neato! What an innovation.

Now please give us all a cite so we won't conclude you just dreamt it up?

You know, and this is only a general observation, people driving MB's are usually quite reasonable. You don't see them doing stupid crap, usually a good "spatial alertness" to them (much like a aircraft pilot). Granted, you get the occasional older lady that seems to be in another world (being in line at Starbucks comes to mind), or the young punk with tons of $ and no reasoning. But generally, and I learned this during my tenure as an MB service advisor, people driving these autos are the kind of you wouldn't mind driving your kids around. They are reasonable, don't take chances, and realize that their autos are more capable of most others on the road. Occasionally, they take advantage of it - when conditions are right. I think police observe the same generalization.
That's exactly what I think about it. And that's why I think cops (in general) are more merciful on Mercedes-Benz drivers.

As I said, the law is NOT widely publicized. But it exist, at least in CA. I know few people, that avoided tickets this way. Check with your lawyer.

You are not the God?

Engineer was sent to hell and having lot of time, did some improvements there. Running toilets, escalators, air circulation.
Some time later God meet the Devil and ask him how the things are going.
"Very nice" answered Devil. "This engineer is quite valuable in making our life comfortable"
"Engineer in hell?" ask God "I want him in heaven"
"No way" answered Devil
"I'll sue" says God
"Sue?" Devils smiling "Where are you going to get a lawyer?"

The car you drive definitely makes a difference with the police. I have some family and friends that are cops and they say that while it doesnt really matter if its a Mercedes or BMW, mainly its somewhat of a stereotype of the car and model.

Meaning, they dont usually expect someone driving a Mercedes, especially the larger models, to be doing anything too overly wrong. Speeding maybe, but not jumping in and out of lanes, racing, cutting over lanes etc that you may expect out of younger drivers.

If they see a C-class thats lowered, blacked out windows, lights coming from the bottom, chrome wheels, etc, then they expect more than likely there will some erratic driving at some point so if its speeding, they assume the person deserves the ticket to hopefully teach a lesson and slow em down.
I hear ya, Irvine neightbor. I see people around me getting ticketed all the time - most cops only give me a glance and move on. Indeed, it helps to keep your cool, stay in your lane and try to refrain from too many erratic moves (I know it's hard)

“One who conquers himself is greater than another who conquers a thousand times a thousand on the battlefield.”

wow. Today in california, when i was on the freeway, i saw 4 MB's get ticketed.

a W164, a W211, a W203, and a W126.

But on my way home, i noticed that my rear light wasnt working, and a cop was right behind me, and I had to brake, and me and the cop went down for like 2 streets, and then he just make a right turn. He didnt even care that my right brake light wasnt working.
To serve and protect doesn't exist anymore.
There was no money to make on your faulty light.
I have another story to add on to that. Today, i went out again, and then i realized after going a while, that i forgot to replace my brakelight. On my way home, i was kinda speeding (5 or 10 miles more than the speed limit), and there was a cop who started following me from behind. I slowed down, and then he saw my brake light!. He put his flashing lights on, and he said: 1) i was going 10 miles above the speed limit (he had his radar, and showed me,) and 2) my right brake light was not working.

This cop was merciful to me. He just told me not to speed again, and to replace my right brake light. After that, i went to Pep Boys and replaced my lightbulb. Everything is fine now.

So maybe the cop was more merciful on me cuz i was driving a Mercedes.
