RE: F1 v A160 v E50

the E50 was introduced in 1996 with a 342bhp 5-litre V8 but never made it to the UK. However its successor the E55 did make it in both saloon (W210) and estate versions (S210).

Available from 1997 until 2002 the E55 had a 5,439cc V8 producing 349bhp and 391lb/ft of torque. 0-62mph came up in 5.7 and it was limited to 155mph top speed.

When new it cost nearly £60,000 but you see good UK examples going for £11,000+. Seen two recently sold by Hairpin at the £11,000 and £13,000 mark.

Autotrader is a good source as well. Happy hunting.
