Mass airflow sensor in C230

Is it easy to replace a MAS in 1997 C230? If so, how can I do it myself? Local MB dealer in Bridgewater, NJ quoted a minimum of $220 to look at the car?

Is it also easy to replace crank shaft sensor?

Access is the key here as is your mechanical ability. I don't have any experience with this car in particular but the MAF can't be too difficult. The crank sensor on the other hand may be a little harder to get to.

RE: Mass airflow sensor in C230

the MAF sensor ist das black Hose look-alike thjing at thee top end of ur AIr-filter housing. u have to take out the air filter housing and then unscrew the MAF....for a mechanic thats a 5 min job....

looks about like this --> dZViewItem

the crank....i wouldnt touch if i was u....thats pretty difficult. but any mechanic jpb should be able to do that for u.

EDIT: Damn i thought u have a W203....but urs is the older one....hmmm....i cant rememebr how it was on that car, but shouldnt be much different....
