I'm trying to figure out my next car move and would love some good advice from people in the know!

I have a 2003 Peugeot 307 at the moment and am looking to take the next step up the ladder.

I'm just wondering how the different luxury cars compare, and what might make me choose one make over another.

I'm looking at Mercedes, BMW, Audi, maybe Lexus and any other suggestions from anyone.

Regardless of model, I'm just trying to get an idea of what one brand can offer me over the other, and also what kind of people drive which car.

Any suggestions and comments would be great (asap)

more info...hmmm.

Well, I'm looking into used cars, specifically. And I guess I just want to know what you all think of one brand and used car programme versus another.

I just want the best for my money. It's my first time to buy a luxury car, so I'm buying used as a way of stepping up into luxury, but in a way I can afford.

Is this what other people do, or is it more a case of always sticking with the same brand, and buying used so that you can afford a better car or model?

I'm just interested to know what people out there do, as I'm new to the whole thing!

Let me help you out a bit.

Cars are like women, maybe a bit better. The more you date or have them, the more you gain appreciation for each one of them. Each car has a character and each one has a taste.

Mercedes has its heritage way ahead of its quality and that is very imortant to some people like me. We all know that Ford Crown Vic is far more reliable vehicle in comparison.

BMW I never owned, but has a more sporting flavor in its own right but history that is not as flamboyant as the Benz.

Lexus is basically a copy cat of both, mostly MB, it looks like one everytime they make an LS model. It drives great, maybe even better, is a lot more dependable, very quite.

I personaly like history and MB has a definite presence advantage above any other car. The fact that Adolf Hitler and the whole SS used to utilize MB cars says a lot. And we all know that german engeneering has always been cutting edge.

Infiniti is a lost cause. Q line is a disaster, was great when it first came out, original Q45 was a good car.

Drive each one and see for yourself. Each car is a state of mind, where do you want to be?

If you are looking for reliadility, go with the Lexus. I personally think if you want a sporty car, you should definately check out the Infinity G35.

I have always Loved the MB for the prestige and the way it drives. One point my brother told me a long time ago was, "The more you drive a Mercedes, the more you will like it!!" I didn't believe him until I bought my first one. I now own a couple and a BMW. They are all really nice, but I have to say, I enjoy driving the Mercedes more every year. Plus, when you tell people you drive a Mercedes, it garners a lot more respect than anything else.

I'm a french owner of slk R171, and it is the first ime Ihave bouht a Mercedes.
Perhaps I can explain what decideme to buy one and forget BMW and her Z4..
First, the new design of Mercedes Benz
Second, the results in crash test and reliability. You have to know that MB is the only brand that have an accidentology department in order to analyse big crash of car and increase security
Then, the quality on the whole and the services of the MB technical center
I wish you to buy one, and even if not, drive securely..[:)]
