Hard starting cold
I'm working on a 1986 300 E that is horrible to start when it's cold. If you go to start it at 40- degrees it runs for about 3 seconds, then shuts down. It then fails to re-start
unless you crank for several (up to 18 key turns)
times. Once it finally fires you have to sneak up on the accelerator to get it to take. Once she runs it runs great, plenty of power.
When I add a little fuel to the intake of the fuel distributer it will go indicating it's a lack of fuel. What sensor contols the cold start injector or is it the ECU through the computer temp sensor? I've tried substituting a different sensor and no luck.
