RE: Green Filter vs K&N filter

Hi and welcome to the forum.

My guess is you'll get three kinds of responses.

1: Green only!! No other!!

2: K&N only!! No other!!

3: Stock only!! The others kill your MAF sensor!!

If you search across all the forums here you'll find all three in varying degrees of intensity.

Bottom line, the stock MB filters are quite good both from a capacity and efficiency standpoint. If you're doing some other performance mods that will help the engine breath better, you might notice an improvement with either the green or K&N; you probably won't if the rest of it stays stock. However, if you are lazy about maintenance and maintenance procedures, DO NOT buy a K&N, since a failure to properly maintain it will not be good for your engine. Or the MAF sensor. [:)] Since you're familiar with K&N, you should be familiar with the proper maintenance, so you know what you're getting into.

Personally, the first accessory I bought for my E320 was a K&N air filter because I believe they filter better (irrepsective of increased performance), but I'm diligent about maintaining the filter properly and have used them on all of my vehicles in the past. There's a long and relatively recent thread in the 210 forum so I won't belabor it here.

Take care and enjoy your new ride,
Greg
