RE: AMG Finish

The process isn't different from repainting the surface of a car. 1)Strip; 2)Repair surface defects; 3)Prep (sanding & primer); 4) Color coat (Wurth or similar (Griots spray); 5) Clearcoat (optional, or required if you have a machine polished lip) and then let the surface cure properly

What do you do to prevent the paint from peeling off the fenders and roof?

RE: AMG Finish

I guess I am new to rim maintenance - I have never had any problems with any of my rims in the past. What is the best wax to use on rims for the best protection and the brightest shine?

RE: AMG Finish

Since it's a painted metal surface, what you use on your car will work on the wheels.

Keep in mind, the wheels tend to get more abuse than the rest of the metal of the car, so perhaps extra attention to them is in order. Brake dust can be corrosive and cause pitting and just as you wouldn't let a deep scratch or gouge in the quarter panel of your car linger for months, the same should be applied to the care and maintenance of a rim or spoke that gets ground against a curb, pothole or gravel.

Also, just as you wouldn't blast the surface of your hood with a gazillion PSI powerwasher, don't power blast the rims with water, either dial the pressure down or use a regular garden hose and nozzle.
