2001, e55 battery

mb-ers, i have a dead battery in my 2001 e55, its under the back seat. how do i get the deat out? my '86 300e had "tabs" near each end of the seat bottom, cake! many thanks, tjn./e55 in derby city [V][V]

Under the front corners of the back seat is a small plastic tab that you push/pull up on. Do one side at a time. Apply upward pressure on the tab while lifting the seat at that point. When it pops up, go around to the other side and do the same. When both sides are up pull the seat forward a little and lift up and out. Good luck.

thanks mb-ers for the tips on removing the back seat on my e55! now i need a new battery, i'm sure the dealer will sacrifice me one for a fortune, any source ideas? tia tjn./e55 [:)][:)]

M.B roadside assistance will install and reset all electronic stuff for you for free if you purchase the battery from them,typically they may even do a basic charging system inspection........
