Any experiences with Carchex???

Does anybody have any issues with Carchex inspection service? I recently had my inspection done and I'm really not satisfied with their service. Just curious to find out if anyone had similar experiences with them.

What didn't you like about their service? Were you having them inspect a car that you're looking at buying, or were you having your own car inspected prior to selling it?

If I were having a car inspected prior to purchasing it, I'd feel better taking it to a brand-specific garage, since they would likely be more familiar with the typical "trouble spots" than a generic garage or inspection service.

RE: Any experiences with Carchex???

I was looking to buy 2001 S500, sport out of state and ordered carchex to inspect the car.

First, it took them much longer than they said it would. It took them more than 5 days and then the inspector never sent the photos with the report. I sent number of e-mails and phone calls to them but carchex only blamed their inspectors. They kept stressing the point they are contractors and they have other full time jobs so it is difficult for them to contact them. They finally uploaded the pics but it was too late. The car was sold. I'm still in battle with them to get my money back.

Yeah I sould of had MB dealer inspect the car!!!

same here, took them 5 days to complete the report.
I bought the car anyway, out of state too, had it shipped, and only than got the report.
Thanks God, the car was almost brand new '05 C55, so I wasn't expecting many problems with it.
Nevertheless, they have "missed" , that 3 out of 4 wheels had curb rash (2 of them major rash) and the foglight lense was cracked. The dealership I was working with (Covert Buick, Austin, Tx) is willing to reimberse (we'll see, I hope so!) for whatever repairs necessary, including refinishing of the wheels.
I think I will just do a chargeback, I paid with Amex, and their customer service is top notch.
