Stuck on driveshaft
I had this on the 124 forum and haven't seen anything so I thought I'd try it here.
I am in the middle of replacing the rear diff bushings on a 87 300E and need a little advise.
The flex disc is unbolted and the center bearing bracket has been loosened, the drive shaft does slide toward the front.
The drive shaft looks like it is real close to coming off but is still on the prop shaft (I think that is what it's call). I've marked splines just in case it gets separated. I need to lower the drive shaft so I can get to the nut on top of the front of the rear diff mount bushing and finish lower the whole rear diff to get to the real fight of removing the old bushing.
What am I not doing or missing?
How do I finish getting the drive shaft off? Please help I'm stuck! I have done a lot of sreaching and have not found anything that puts me on the money.
Thanks in advance
