Favorite Luxury Brands?

Other than Mercedes Benz, what is your favorite luxury brand? I'm not going to include brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini because they are not "luxury cars" in the true sense, they are extreme sports cars or supercars.

My choice, of course is Cadillac because they have very majestic, very american designs, they are big, and very luxurious, and up until the mid '70s they were part of the american dream. And they are pretty affordable to run and maintain.

Jaguar, or, as I call it, Jag-u-aint.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

There should be option for None. To be honest, I am new to MB but will not choose any other brands over Mercedes-Benz....

Thanks, D.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

There's some clarification.

There's the luxury brands....compare those...then there's the super luxury brands like RR....don't forget Maserati since it has it's new Quattroporte....it's borderline exotic rather than super luxury

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

Since we're going for luxury I voted for Lexus. To me Lexus has the refinement and quality no other company can match, except for AUDI. Lexus has been a reliable company for years. Sure they have their ups and downs but none are as major as the other companies. If we were voting for the super-luxury my vote is for Maybach.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

Cadillacs have been ugly since 2000 so they should be taken out of the lineup. Too bad bacause they used to make some nice looking cars.

Lincoln and Acura aren't really luxury either. Rebadging mediocre cars shouldn't fetch a higher pricetag.

I agree about your Cadillac statement. I dont like the newer ones that much at all. But i do really like the older ones from the late '50s forward. Lincolns really gone on a downward slide too. I like their '70s stuff the most....back when america built genuine american huge landyachts.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

I heard that the Town Car is like the Toyota of luxury brands that is fullsize and has a V8. Reliable, efficient and relatively cheap for a fullsize. It's also a rebadged/redesigned Ford Crown Vic/Mercury G. Marquis.

Funny you post this, I was thinking about this just today. Still couldn't decide which one other then classic MBs. Now, if you go back in time, and insert MB, then perhaps votes would change.

Luxury cars have a company history such as Mercedes, Maybach, Rolls Royce, Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, Saab, etc. Rebadged ones don't.
