Really? I've never heard that before, Did that '78 Town Car have air springs?
No, but we also had 2 1990s and 1 1993. All three blew the springs.

when they redesigned the Town Cars for 1998, they got rid of the air spring setup.
Wrong-o. See here:

Here’s one more thing.

Usually, traditions carry an ornament at the end of the front hood. I never saw Lexus of Infiniti put an ornament on their flagships.

yup! lets see here..who still makes cars with hood ornaments...Cadillac,Lincoln and Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Maybach..thats all of em

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

The Toyota Century is different than the Crown. The Century looks like the Japanese Lincoln Town Car, it's been virtually unchanged in design since the 60's.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

I'd like to add that Mercedes traditionally was not all about luxury, but also practicality and sportiness. Its an all-around car, IMO, that does better than others because it does everything so well.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

I cannot believe that Lexus has polled nearly as many votes as Bentley!

I take it that this is in the context of Bentley AFTER it`s acquisition by VW. Lexus is a facsimilie; the Replicant from Blade Runner and souless just the same.

Fact is,the true Bentley (and for that matter the Royce) was bespoke and beyond the reach of most.

RE: Favorite Luxury Brands?

As I remember some of those replicants in blade runner were sexy, efficient and powerful, emotionaless and empty as they may have seemed [:D]

I know for a fact one of them was fast too hehe
