RE: Why did you buy a Mercedes Benz?

Born, raised, and stil driving a 1990 300E, no car will ever have the same as this one does. Mercedes knows performance, luxury, handling, and how to make a car never age.

RE: Why did you buy a Mercedes Benz?

For me Daimler Benz represented the epitome of engineering integrity; the triumph of substance over style. In Daimler Chrysler I do not think that has been the case but with Hubbert gone and it`s customers demanding improved quality perhaps things will change.

Nevertheless we will not see the likes of the W108/9s,W116s,W123s,W126s,W124s,W201s,W140s or R107s again.

Daimler Benz is dead and with it died an approach to car-making that is unlikely to be resurrected.

I drive a W140 and own an R107 and whilst the S500 is an awesome vehicle there is an abiding sense of absolute quality in the older car that the S Class cannot match.

RE: Why did you buy a Mercedes Benz?

My past two cars were: Audi A6 2.7T & BMW 540i. I sold my Bimmer because it had high mileage and I sold my Audi because of on-going problems that I got tired of trying to fix. So, I went w/ MB this time because I wanted to buy a flagship luxury car (for once in my life) and I found this at a good price, clean CarFax history, etc. It's a change to drive a full-size sedan over mid-size, but I think I'm getting used to it. My next car may be an E500 4matic or I may go back to Audi, as long as it's AWD.

Mine: <a href="http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2515464">'03 VW Passat (B5.5)</a>
Wifey: <a href="http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2479000">'07 Audi A4 3.2 S-Line Avant (B7)</a>

1-Luxury
2-Class
3-Stealth (for flying under the radar [}:)]

In that order.

Because Mercedes Benz was the only manufacturer of the R(W)107 SL!

RE: Why did you buy a Mercedes Benz?

In HS my girlfriends Dad drove an old wagon with the 3rd seat. It had 300K and still ran great. I always told myself if I ever had to give up my sports car for a family car. It would be a wagon with a 3rd seat. That day has come. Now I want my wife to drive the TE and pick up a W126 300 TD.
