Help me pic a all wheel drive mercedes model...

Hello-
My wife and I are interested in getting a "new" used car for her and I have searched on the internet for some time now and was wondering what is the difference in a c320 and a e320. Also what model would you recommend used for a 30 something couple with 3 kids who are trading in a 99 yukon for a 4 door sedan that has to have all wheel drive. The wife is pissed that we bought the yukon new for about 32k and now it is only worth about 10k on trade in. The bigger the better and I think our budget is around 30k or less. Pro's or cons on a 320 or 430? e or c? What is the biggest 4matic that mercedes has? all help is much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

2 adults; 3 kids; out of a Yukon. You are not looking for a C. Then again, if you have to ask about the difference between a C and E class, you should probably do a bit more research on these cars before you buy, especially as you want to buy used. Recent Mercedes Benzes (and I assume you will be looking in the 2000-2004 model range) out of warranty are generally very expensive to maintain; they are not as reliable as they used to be.

get a pre-1991 s class if you want a lot room, I think they have AWD on a few models, but do some research.
Or you can buy a 2000+ model, but be sure to buy extended warrenty.

Find yourself a five year old E320 4Matic with under 50,000 miles and purchase an extended warranty; you should be able to accomplish that for under $25,000 and have yourself an excellent snow car (get real snow tires for it, though)that is the safest on the road. The V-6 has plenty of power (I previously had the E420)and you'll be able to get near 30 mpg. But like another poster said, research 'em on this and other sites first.

I have one question if you mind me asking is why are you looking for a sedan with 3 kids, five people total?

The car will be for the wife to haul the kids around town. If we take trips I have a crew cab truck that we use that has plenty of inside room. We also have a BMW M3 convertible that we use for fun in the summer. I love german cars and realize upkeep can be costly. We just want to get out of the buying a new GM car and have it depreciate a ton before we trade it in. I want something that will still look classy 8-10 years from now and still be a nice tight driving car.

This is a good one. They are a little troublesome. You may want to opt for the E430 instead of the E320, because having 3 kids you may enjoy the extra power of the V8 better. Since you've got 3 kids, some groceries (since it's for your wife), but no matter what you want to get an extended warranty.

Then a ‘newer’ MB (last 7 years) is not for you.

There were no 4WD 126s, btw, that was the 124.

Get a 4matic wagon - solves all problems while getting good mpg.
