Sixteen days now they have had car. Today they call

check engine light comes on. Oxygen sensor. Has

RE: 2006 transmission replaced 1100 miles

I have new SLK 350 due in any day; however, mine will have 6-speed manual. Previously I had a '99 SLK230 with a manual transmission. It was a trouble free car.

I have been monitoring the 171 site for almost a year to make sure there were no major problems with the new SLK. I would advise that you post this on that site. I have to tell you that I have only seen a couple transmission issues on the SLK350 (since the 280 has only been out a few months there is not much feedback yet).

I would tell you this. I would meet with the general manager/owner of the dealership and push hard for them to order you a new car. It is called a "buyback" where Mercedes buys the car back. A car with 1100 miles having a new transmission is not a good thing.
