The factory in Graz, builds ML, GL, and probably could do others.
Mls are built in Alabama.

RE: M-B production plants

I remember seeing that plant building ML's for the European market a few years ago. The same plant was also building Jeep Grand Cherokee's for the European market. I remember seeing a picture with one model going down one line and the other models going down another line. I think the picture and accompanying article was in the Wall Street Journal.

The article talked about how there had been real opposition from the Mercedes side of the house on even allowing the contract plant to produce the two vehicles in the same plant. It is a "flexible" production plant.

M-B production plants

I believe there is a plant in Austria that is a "contract" plant that Mercedes uses to produce some vehicles, particularly at times when they need additional production space. Some years they have added production of a high volume model or they will put a limited production model at that plant as well.

FunBenz's response is the closest. The plant in Austria is a 'contract' plant owned by Magna Corp. that assembles E-class 4-matics. Other E-classes are manufactured at MB plants.
