CLK 430 air filter replacement

Question: How many engine air filters does the CLK430 have and what is the DIY process for replacement. Does anyone know of any problems with replcaing with K&N performance filters. I've used them in other vehicles but not the CLK.

RE: CLK 430 air filter replacement

I believe that CLK430 takes two air filters as do the 320 engine.

I've installed K&N's and they work great.

RE: CLK 430 air filter replacement

Is the process for installation just a matter of removing the engine cover? Is there a lot to removing the engine cover?

RE: CLK 430 air filter replacement

It is very easy to replace. You'll need a torx driver though. I searched this forum before I replaced mine and found a great thread with pictures on how to change the air filters. Sorry I did not save the link.

And you do have to buy 2 air filters.

Hello Billyons,

May I ask how you remove the engine cover? What size torque wrench is needed and where are the screws located? Since I can not see any screws sitting on the top of the engine cover, I would assume that they are probably sitting on the bottom side.
